CACTUS FLOWER SHOE SALON
Cactus Flower Shoe Salon has been on El Paseo for 38 years. Carey Woods says she never imagined that someday she would be the owner. Her mother and aunt purchased the store from a neighborhood friend in the late 1970s and groomed Woods to take the reins. “My aunt took me under her wing and taught me how to care for ‘the goose that lays the golden eggs,'” Woods says. “It has been four amazing years since my husband and I were blessed with the opportunity.”
Have fun while making the customer queen! We’re committed to the belief that there is a purpose and a plan for our business and a solution to every challenge.
Resort footwear. We believe in shoes that are good for your feet and stylish. It’s good to be a girl!
Time with the Cactus Flower girls. Next to my husband, of course. It doesn’t matter if we are working or out playing, we have so much fun!
FAVORITE ITEM IN STORE:
There are so many things I love! The shoes — Onex, of course. The handbags, particularly Mary Frances. The Seasonal Whispers jewelry. My current go-to fad would have to be the hats. We have the cutest hats ever!
EL PASEO HANGOUTS:
If we get an early start, it’s breakfast at Wilma & Frieda or JC’s Patio. After work, when our husbands are busy, we enjoy happy hour at Café des Beaux-Arts or Mamma Gina’s. When we’re celebrating a birthday, we like Mastro’s for their chocolate martini and the Warm Butter Cake. There are so many places to go!
